Telbit is considered the leading suppliers of Shaft Signaling equipment for the Gold and Platinum mining industry. Our Locked Bell System consists of an Onsetter, Banksman, Driver & Call Bell units, based on the popular 3-wire communications system, which forms the backbone of all communications between the surface winder and below surface levels.

The system successfully operates the world’s deepest mines ranging over 3km’s in depth. Telbit holds a patent that defines a unique multi-wire signaling platform, and is therefore the only company capable of manufacturing the Probell Signalling System.

Underground Onsetter Unit communicates to the surface winder over 3-wire network, fitted with IP68 Piezo push buttons for high reliability in harsh conditions.

The Mitronix Signalling Card is a new generation replacement card to the trusted old Scitron Card. Upgrade any old Onsetter, Banksman or Driver Unit to latest technology.

CALLBELL UNIT

Features an “Accident to Shaft” and “Accident to Person” push button. The front glass is broken first to get access to the push buttons. Each units has its own programmable station code.

BELL RECORDER

A Windows based data recorder monitors and records all Onsetter, Banksman and Driver messages. Various other digital inputs such as All Clear, Men Material, Brakes, etc. are also recorded, and stored for a period of 1 year.

DRIVER UNIT

Mounted on the driver’s desk if the Winder House, messages are transmitted to the Onsetters units below surface, or to the Banksman Unit at surface level.

ONSETTER LOCKS & KEYS

Mining product - Onsetter lock and key - Magnetic Switch and Key

MAGNETIC SWITCH & KEY

The Magnetic Switch uses a pre-programmed Key to activate the Onsetter and Banksman Units. The Key magnetically latches to the switch until removed. This switches replaces the old style mechanical lock and key, featuring no moving parts and sealed to IP68. The mounting holes follows the industry standard layout used on the Onsetter Units.
